The programme consists of three distinct pieces. First, there is She, written and performed by Emily Wollenberg, which is set in 1941 and draws inspiration from Sarah Waters’ Tipping the Velvet to look at queer love during the Second World War. This is followed by Lesbians Eat Fire, performed by Caro Vinden, which is based on the experiences of the Lesbian Avengers and activists from the 1990s. Finally, The Eye of Dawn, performed by Isabel Hees, offers a reinterpretation of the life of Mata Hari, the Dutch dancer from the 1920s who was accused of espionage. The production team includes Emily Wollenberg, Isabel Hees, Caro Vinden, Taylor Carmen, and Cristiano Benfenati.
Regarding the practical details, the event is ticketed. Standard entry is priced at £10, while concession tickets are available for £7.97. The show is rated for audiences aged 16 and over, and there is a strict policy prohibiting entry to children under the age of two. It is worth noting that the performance includes audience interaction, strong language, nudity, strobe lighting, loud noises, and references to sexual abuse, violence, HIV/AIDS, and death, so you might want to keep those content warnings in mind when deciding if this is for you.
