The Sewing Club play The Hope & Ruin on Wednesday 21 October, presented by The Beauty Witch. It's an 18+ night.
They're an alternative rock project led by Hannah McElroy on guitar and vocals, with Stephen Meaux on guitar and bass, Justin Mckinney on guitar, and Zach McCoy on drums and vocals. The band formed in 2022, starting out in the basements of friends' houses in Nashville, Tennessee. Since then they've toured the US opening for Chokecherry and Arlie, played SXSW, and shared the stage with Protomartyr, Soccer Mommy, Otoboke Beaver, and Horse Jumper of Love.
Last autumn they released their debut EP, Care, recorded and mixed by Calvin Lauber (Julien Baker), Alex Farrar (Wednesday), and Henry Stoehr of Slow Pulp. Their debut album is due out in spring 2026 via Born Loser Records, so this gig comes a few months after that release. Between the EP and the full-length, there's plenty of their own material to pull from for the set.
