The Serfers + Darcy + Gold & Green

The Serfers are playing The Hope & Ruin on Saturday 25 July, with Darcy and Gold & Green on the bill. It's a triple header that pulls from a few different corners of the alternative scene, all on the same stage in one night.

The Serfers are a Brighton surf-punk quartet, and they describe their approach as "by the mates, for the mates" — a local band playing for their own crowd. They'll be sharing the bill with Darcy, a grunge-gaze quartet from across the South Coast, and Gold & Green, a Brighton alternative-emo trio. Between the three of them, the night covers surf-punk, grunge-gaze and emo, so it's a fair bit of ground to cover in one evening.

If those labels don't immediately ring a bell, it's the kind of line-up that sits comfortably with alternative rock, indie, grunge and emo. The Serfers bring the surf-punk, Darcy the grunge-gaze, and Gold & Green the emo side of things, and all three are based here or nearby. It's a local bill, with two of the three bands calling Brighton home.

The night runs from 19:30 to 22:30 at The Hope & Ruin, 10-12 Queens Road, BN1 3WA. Tickets are £6.00, and it's an 18+ event, so you'll need to be over eighteen to get in. Tickets are on sale online in advance.
