Stand-up comedy night where established comedians and emerging acts try out new material under a no-heckling policy.
The Secret Comedy Club is back at Artista on Wednesday 21 October, part of their mid-week series of nights in Brighton. It's billed as 'the secret comedy club at Artista', a room where established comedians and emerging acts come to try out new material. That's the whole point of the night: you're seeing work in progress, not a polished hour, so the line-up is a mix of names you might recognise and newer faces testing the waters.
The bill for this one is a long one, with seven comedians sharing the stage. Emmy Fyles, Sasha Ellen, Michael Campuzano, Heather Elizabeth, Joe Foster, Tom Simons and David Tsonos all get a turn, so there's a fair bit of ground to cover across the evening. Because it's a night for new material, the sets are usually shorter and more experimental than what you'd find at a headline show.
One thing to keep in mind is the club's strict no-heckling policy. They run it as a friendly, focused room, and they don't mess about with it: anyone asked to leave for heckling may be refused admission in the future, with no refund. It's a 16+ event, and the club advises arriving 15 to 30 minutes before the show, as late arrivals may be turned away and their tickets resold.

Artista runs a wider comedy programme throughout the week, including an open mic and comedy nights on Fridays and Saturdays, so this is one of several ways to catch stand-up there. This particular show runs from 8:00pm to 10:30pm, and a standard ticket is £6.50.
