If you're looking for reliable, high-quality stand-up in Brighton, the weekly Friday night show at The Secret Comedy Club is a solid bet. This club, housed in the intimate, underground setting of Artista Cafe & Gallery (42 Brighton Square, BN1 1HD), has built a strong reputation, even winning the Audience Choice Award for Best Fringe Venue in 2021. It’s widely recognized as the city's best small-scale comedy spot, offering a fresh lineup every week.

The programming focuses on quality, featuring a completely new MC, support acts, and headliner each week. They consistently pull in established talent from TV and the UK circuit alongside the best emerging comedians. If you plan to go, the doors open at 7:00 PM on Fridays, which is also when their 'Super Secret Happy Hour' runs until 7:30 PM. The show itself kicks off at 8:00 PM and usually wraps up around 10:30 PM, with the venue closing at 11:00 PM. These Friday shows are running consistently from January 30th, 2026, right through to October 2nd, 2026.
Given the small size of the venue, booking ahead is definitely recommended, especially since door tickets (£25.00) are limited and only available if the show hasn't sold out online. Advance tickets, available via Skiddle, range from £11.00 for concessions up to £22.00 standard. A couple of important notes on attending: the event is generally restricted to ages 16+, and they enforce a strict no-heckling policy, which helps keep the atmosphere focused and fun for both the audience and the performers.
