Live stand-up comedy night at The Secret Comedy Club, a Brighton venue known for its friendly atmosphere and Audience Choice Award.
The Secret Comedy Club is back with its Friday night line-up on 21 August, at Artista on Brighton Square. It's part of a regular run that keeps going through the autumn: 28 August, then 4, 11, 18 and 25 September, and 2, 9, 16 and 23 October. If you're looking for something to do on a Friday night, there's a good stretch of dates to choose from.
The club describes itself as Brighton & Hove's best small comedy club, and it's the only one in the city running every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. That's five nights of live stand-up a week, with the headliners and MCs switching across the different nights, so the Friday bill is its own thing. It's also the venue that picked up the Audience Choice Award for Best Fringe Venue, which gives you a fair idea of the kind of room it is.
Because it's a smaller space, it's a bit different from the bigger comedy nights around town. The club positions itself as a safer and friendlier alternative to the larger venues, and that's a good way to describe it — it's more of a local spot than a big production. The Friday nights run from 19:00 to 22:30, and if you're planning ahead, keep in mind that the start time shifts to 20:00 from 9 October.

Tickets are £12.00, and with the dates running through to late October, you can easily pick a few Fridays in a row if you fancy it. The club is at Artista, 42 Brighton Square, BN1 4HD, right in the heart of the city.
