Live show combining acoustic music and handcrafted Muppet-style puppets, a joyful and nostalgic Christmas tribute to Jim Henson and the Muppets.
The Puppet Folk Experience brings its Christmas show to Komedia on Sunday 20 December, with two performances on the one day: 11:00 am and 3:30 pm. It's a fan-made tribute to the music and creative spirit of Jim Henson and the Muppets, built on acoustic musicianship and handcrafted puppetry.
It started in the summer of 2025 at a small acoustic night in Leigh, armed with a banjo and a frog. Clips of the show struck a chord online and have since touched audiences around the world, and it's grown from there, playing weddings, comic conventions, cinemas and music venues. Andy leads on the banjo with much-loved songs from Muppet films and television, while Liam performs faithfully handmade Muppet replicas alongside original puppet characters and a few carefully chosen covers. The Christmas show runs for about an hour with a short interval, and the puppets meet the crowd afterwards.
Audiences describe it as joyful, nostalgic and genuinely heartfelt, as a hug from childhood. It's a show for the whole family, so it works as well with kids as it does for anyone who grew up on the Muppets. The two timings on the day — 11:00 am and 3:30 pm — make it easy to fit around a Sunday morning or a late lunch.
