The Primitives, the British indie pop band from the mid-80s, perform live at The Prince Albert in an intimate show.
The Primitives play The Prince Albert on Thursday 29 April, their only Brighton date that spring. It's an intimate one, and they've billed it as such, with very limited tickets on sale.
For those who only know the name, they're a British indie pop band formed in Coventry in 1985. They built their following on a melodic sound that critics likened to Blondie, and they left behind hits like "Crash" and their debut album, Lovely. They split in 1991, but reunited in 2009 and have been releasing new material since then, including Spin-O-Rama.
Because it's a small room and a limited run of tickets, this is one of those nights where you'll be right up on them rather than watching from the back. The set will pull from both sides of their career, the early indie pop they're best known for and the newer stuff they've put out since coming back together.
