Eight Miles High presents a night of live music with visuals, featuring The Jack Cades and support acts in a psychedelic garage-rock setting.
The Jack Cades headline The Prince Albert on Saturday 21 November, part of a night put on by the Eight Miles High club. It's a full bill, with visuals running throughout the evening, and the headliners are touring their new album, Fade In, which is out now.
If you haven't heard them, The Jack Cades describe their sound as a cocktail of '60s freakbeat and garage, mixed with '80s and '90s indie influences. That's a fair bit of ground to cover in one set, and it's rounded out by a new rhythm section and a keys player. Shindig! Magazine called it raucous garage-rock with toe dips into new wave and indie-rock, so you've got a good sense of where they sit.
They're not the only ones on the bill. Brighton's own four-piece indie-pop outfit Last of the Lovely Days open the night, their '60s-inspired pop album having already drawn some praise. Then comes the spiky indie pop of Monolith Cocktail, followed by the alt-folk of Bity Booker. Booker's sparse, mystic songs recall Joan Baez, Bridget St. John and Joanna Newsom, and her album There's No Song About a Stone is out on limited-edition vinyl.

Between the four acts, the night moves from indie-pop through to garage-rock and alt-folk, with visuals running across the whole thing. Doors open at 8pm, the first act starts at 8:30pm, and there's an 11pm curfew. Tickets are £11 in advance and £12 on the door.
