A Halloween comedy murder mystery dinner theatre experience where the audience interrogates suspects in a story set around Brighton's cancelled Halloween music festival.
The Ghost of Frighton Rock is a comedy murder mystery dinner staged by Pier Pressure Brighton Escape Rooms, running on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October at Hotel Du Vin & Bistro on Ship Street. It's a Halloween night out that combines a three-course meal with a whodunnit you're actually part of, rather than just watching from a table.
The story centres on a cancelled Halloween music festival here in Brighton. The organiser, Ronan Hyde, turned up dead by the seaside, and his ghost now guides the audience as they interrogate the suspects. Those suspects are played by the performers of that doomed festival, so you'll be questioning the very people who were supposed to be on stage. It's a comedy, so expect the interrogation to lean more towards the farcical than the hard-boiled.
That cast of characters is where the music theme really comes through. You'll be dealing with Tom Bones, David Boowie, Cherwolf, Scary J Blige and Pavarotten—each one a pun on a music icon, and each one a suspect in Hyde's death. Between the courses, you'll be picking through their stories to figure out who's lying.

The meal is a full part of the evening: a three-course dinner, a glass of sparkling white wine on arrival, and half a bottle of wine per person. The whole thing runs from 19:00 to 22:00, so it's a proper night in. Tickets are £93.50, and it's on both Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October at Hotel Du Vin & Bistro, 2-7 Ship Street, BN1 1AD.
