Sharp, storytelling comedy show from Dan Stephens, fresh from his Edinburgh 2025 run.
Brighton Fringe is back for the month of May, and as usual, the city is filling up with comedy shows across various venues. If you are looking to catch some live performances, there are a couple of options coming up that might fit into your schedule.

Starting on May 1st, Dan Stephens is bringing his show, The Dan Stephens Show: More Than a Mullet, to the Laughing Horse at the a&o Hostel bar. He is performing in the Front Room, and the run continues until May 7th. This is a storytelling comedy set, which follows his time at the Edinburgh Fringe last year. It is worth noting that the show operates on a 'Pay What You Want' basis, with prices starting from ยฃ10. The venue is accessible, including wheelchair access, and like most comedy shows during the festival, it is strictly for those aged 18 and over, with no exceptions for infants.
Later in the month, on May 10th, there is a mixed bill show called Tender Chaos taking place at Presuming Ed. This event features a lineup of newer talent, specifically Victor Vacheron, Eva-Jade Andrews, Chiff Powell, Joe Williams, and Katy Barber. It starts at 14:45 and is also a 'Pay What You Want' event, though in this case, it is listed as free to attend. It is a good option if you prefer seeing a variety of comedians in a single session rather than a solo hour.
Both of these venues are set up to accommodate attendees with specific access needs, such as those requiring assistance dogs or accessible toilets. Since both events are part of the wider Brighton Fringe programme, they share the standard festival policies regarding age restrictions, so keep that in mind if you are planning to head out with friends. It is a straightforward way to see some comedy without the usual theatre prices, and both venues are fairly central, making them easy to get to if you are already spending time in the city centre.
