The renowned Cambridge University sketch comedy troupe present their annual international tour show with five of Cambridge's best student comedians.
The Cambridge Footlights are bringing their international tour show to Komedia on Wednesday 9 September. It's their annual tour, and this year's line-up is five of Cambridge's best student comedians performing a brand new show of their latest sketches. If you've followed the troupe before, you'll know the format: a fresh cast every year, a new set of sketches, and the same Footlights name behind it.
For those who aren't familiar, the Footlights are one of the oldest and most famous sketch troupes in the country. The Independent has called them 'the most renowned sketch troupe of them all', and they've built a reputation for producing comedians who go on to big things. Critics have described them as being 'at the top of their game' and noted that it's 'special to witness such an established organisation at work.' That's the context this show sits in — a new cast taking over a very old mantle.
The show is taking place at Komedia Studio, inside Komedia Brighton at 44-47 Gardner Street in the North Laine. Komedia has been the South Coast's leading comedy club for nearly 30 years, so it's a familiar spot for anyone who spends their evenings in the city's comedy scene. The Studio is the smaller room within the venue, which usually keeps things tight and close to the stage.

Doors open at 19:30, and the show starts at 20:00. Tickets are £13.00 standard, and it's a Wednesday night, so it's a mid-week one rather than a weekend slot.
