The Amber Squad, The Sleepers and Sweet Jonny play The Prince Albert on Sunday 29 November, a punk and power-pop matinee put on by Frugal Promotions. It's an 18+ afternoon, with doors opening at 14:00 and the music starting at 14:10.
The Amber Squad bring high-energy power-pop and pub-rock shaped since the late seventies. Their debut single got a boost from John Peel and took them across the UK; the band reunited in 2015 with original members still driving the sound. The Sleepers come from the late-seventies punk scene, formed in 1979 and first making their mark with the cult-favourite Angel in a Raincoat EP, which earned John Peel airplay and support slots with the Skids and Cockney Rejects. They were revived decades later after a Berlin band covered their debut single, and they've returned to the stage to packed rooms, with recent Queen Mum Records releases and a successful 2025 run reigniting demand. Sweet Jonny describe themselves as a gutter garage rock band.

Between the three, you've got power-pop, punk and garage rock on one bill, and it's all happening in the afternoon rather than late at night. General admission is £12 plus a £1.20 booking fee, £13.20 in total. Doors open at 14:00, music starts at 14:10, and it's for ages 18 and over.
