Sussex Sharks face Leicestershire Foxes in a T20 Blast cricket match held at the County Ground in Hove.
The cricket season is well underway, and for those of us following the local scene, the T20 Blast schedule for 2026 has brought some notable changes to how the tournament plays out. This year, the competition has been restructured into three groups of six teams each—North, Central, and South—moving away from the previous format of two larger groups. Sussex Sharks find themselves in the South group alongside Essex, Hampshire, Kent, Middlesex, and Surrey. One of the matches to mark on the calendar is the fixture between the Sussex Sharks and the Leicestershire Foxes, which is set to take place on June 5, 2026.

This year’s tournament, which runs from May 26 to July 18, has been condensed into a single block before The Hundred, a shift designed to manage player workload and keep the competitive narrative focused. In this new format, each county plays 12 group-stage matches, consisting of six home games and six away games. This includes playing the other five teams in their group both home and away, plus one additional match against a team from another group. The group stage itself runs until July 12, followed by the quarter-finals on July 15, with the semi-finals and final scheduled for July 18 at Edgbaston.
If you are planning to attend, tickets are currently available, with T20 Blast passes starting at £120 for adults and £35 for children. It is worth noting that Sussex members are eligible for a discount on these prices. The matches are hosted across various venues, including Hove, which serves as a home ground for Sussex, as well as other locations like Grace Road, Old Trafford, and the Kia Oval. Whether you are a regular at the ground or just looking to catch a game this summer, the schedule is now set, and the teams are preparing for the condensed season ahead.
