Stand-up comedy show by Stephen K Amos, exploring the funny side of simple misunderstandings and unexpected consequences.
Stephen K Amos brings his new show, The Missing Lemon Meringue, to Komedia Studio on Saturday 9 October 2027. It's a solo hour of stand-up, and the Brighton date is part of the tour. If you've seen him before, you'll know the territory he works in, but this one has its own specific thread running through it.
In The Missing Lemon Meringue, Amos looks at how simple misunderstandings can spiral into unexpected consequences—the good, the bad, and the outright hilarious—and how some people might just need a pie to the face. It's that kind of observational comedy that starts with a small, recognisable thing and stretches it out until it's gone somewhere entirely different. The title itself points to the sort of domestic, everyday mishap that can end up taking over a whole evening.
The show has already picked up some strong reviews. The Sunday Times called it 'effortless comedy from one of the country's strongest stand-ups', The Guardian described it as 'dynamite', and The Metro went for 'a note perfect hour'. It's billed as an hour of side-splitting belly laughs, and given the reception so far, it's a safe bet for a Saturday night out.

On the practical side, the show is at Komedia Studio, part of the Komedia complex at 44-47 Gardner Street, BN1 1UN. It starts at 7:30 pm, with doors opening at 7:00 pm, so you've got plenty of time to get in and settle before he takes the stage. Seating is unreserved, so if you're keen on a particular spot, it's worth arriving a bit early. The Brighton staging is for audiences aged 16 and over.
