A comedy night with award-winning comedians raising funds for International Animal Rescue, part of the charity's Orangutan Caring Week.
Stand Up For Animals comes to Komedia on Tuesday 10 November, a comedy night raising funds for International Animal Rescue. It's part of the charity's Orangutan Caring Week, and the night is billed as one that proves 'laughter really can change animals' lives'. The money goes to the rescue and rehabilitation work the organisation does; they've rescued 270 orangutans so far.
The line-up brings together award-winning comedians from across the UK. Andrew O'Neill is MC for the night, and Jen Brister headlines. Between them, the bill is rounded out by Daniel Foxx, Tom Ward, Adele Cliff and Dawn Chorus (Lee Brace). There's a raffle on the night too, with prizes to win.
If you're not familiar with the names, the reviews give you a sense of what each brings. Time Out hailed Andrew O'Neill's 'new heights of comedic brilliance', and The Sunday Times described Jen Brister's energy as 'explosive'. It's in the Komedia Basement, and Komedia is one of the city's leading independent comedy venues, just a short walk from Brighton station. Seating is unreserved, and the room has a vegetarian snack menu if you're hungry. Tickets are £18, the show starts at 7:30 pm, and doors open at 6:30 pm.
