Stamptown

Stamptown bring their variety show to the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange on Saturday 24 October, starting at 21:30. It's a homecoming of sorts: the city was one of the first places to see the collective's chaos ten years ago, so this is a return to one of the spots where it all began.

If you've never come across them, Stamptown is a raucous, high-energy comedy collective that stages a raunchy, chaotic spectacle of interactive 'anti-comedy'. They trade standard punchlines for absurd character routines and live musical numbers, and the whole thing is hosted by Zach Zucker, who's billed as the 'bad boy of clown'. He gathers an international bill of alternative comedians, clowns and cabaret acts, so the night is a variety show rather than a single stand-up set.

They've been around the block since those early Brighton days. The show debuted on Netflix with a first special that went down well, and from there they've packed out rooms at Netflix is a Joke, Just for Laughs, Glastonbury, SXSW, the Lincoln Centre, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the O2 Arena and Off West End. They've also sold out five Edinburgh Fringes in a row. The reviews have been loud, too: Chortle called it 'the best late-night show on the festival circuit', The Guardian gave it four stars, The Telegraph called it 'the late night cabaret to see' and One4Review branded it 'the greatest variety show in the world'.

It's a late one, so keep that in mind: 21:30 at the Corn Exchange, and it's for ages 18+ only.
