A festival hub at Victoria Gardens featuring the Tivoli Spiegeltent, international productions, cabaret, and family entertainment as part of Brighton Fringe.
The Spiegel Gardens are returning to the centre of Brighton this May as a central part of the Brighton Fringe. From the 1st to the 31st of May 2026, the festival hub will be set up in the southern section of Victoria Gardens, moving into the larger space previously occupied by the Ladyboys of Bangkok. This shift to a more expansive site is designed to offer a more immersive experience than in previous years. The layout includes four distinct areas: the Tivoli Spiegeltent for international productions, the WundaBarn for experimental performances, an outdoor Spotlight Stage, and the SpiegelPub, which will be joined by several new bar areas.

The programming for 2026 is quite varied, covering everything from high-octane cabaret and comedy to live music and children's shows. There is a notable effort to include diverse perspectives, with a specific focus on work by neurodivergent and disabled artists from across the globe. For those interested in the social side of the fringe, the schedule includes daytime clubbing, late-night DJ sets, and poetry workshops. The Spotlight Stage will offer free entertainment all day, continuing its partnership with Fringe City to help artists connect with new audiences. This mix of activities means the gardens function as a community space where the entertainment isn't restricted to just one genre or age group.
Regarding the practical side of things, the event operates on a tiered entry system. While the outdoor stage and general atmosphere are free to access, the main shows are ticketed. These are described as being affordably priced, a strategy that seems to have worked well in 2025 when over 12,300 tickets were sold across nearly 100 different paid events. Whether you are looking for family-oriented activities during the day or more adult-focused cabaret and music in the evening, the site is being positioned as a versatile hub for the duration of the month. It provides a consistent base in the city centre for those wanting to engage with the wider Fringe programme without having to travel between too many different venues.
