A weekly fun and friendly cricket session for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, led by a coach from Sussex Cricket.
Special Olympics Cricket is running at Moulsecoomb Community Leisure Centre on Wednesday afternoons this October. It's a weekly session for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, and it's open to anyone who wants to get involved, regardless of whether they've ever held a bat or bowled a ball before.
The sessions are led by a coach from Sussex Cricket, who teaches the basics of the game in a relaxed environment. There's no prior experience needed: you'll pick up the skills as you go and take part in small, friendly games. It's less about high-pressure competition and more about getting active and having a bit of a laugh with other people.
Because it's a community session, there's a practical point to keep in mind: anyone who needs one-to-one support must be accompanied by a parent or carer, as no personal care is provided during the session. If that's you, just make sure you've got your support sorted before you head down.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Brighton and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The sessions run on Wednesdays at 13:30, on 7, 14 and 21 October, so it's a three-week run rather than a one-off. They're held indoors at the Moulsecoomb Community Leisure Centre on Moulsecoomb Way, BN2 4PB, which means you don't have to worry about the October weather. It costs £5 per person per session.
