Young bands and singer-songwriters aged 14 to 18, discovered and nurtured by Create Music, present three nights of live music at the Brighton Dome.
Sounds from the City is back at the Brighton Dome Studio Theatre this November, and it's grown. What used to be a single night now stretches across three: Monday 16, Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 November 2026. The nights bring together young bands and singer-songwriters aged 14 to 18, all discovered and nurtured by Create Music, the Dome's music education service.
It's an open call, too. Create Music invites acts of any genre to audition for a place, so the line-up isn't tied to one particular sound. The bands and soloists who make the cut are the ones they've been working with throughout the year, and these three nights are where they get to step out of the rehearsal room and onto a proper stage.
For many of the performers, this is their first time playing a ticketed show. It's a big step up from a school hall or a living room: they'll have a professional backline, technicians to handle the sound, and a full lighting rig to work with. The venue itself is the Studio Theatre, a Grade II listed room within the Brighton Dome on New Road, and the fact that the run has expanded to three nights is a nod to how much it's grown in popularity over the years.

If you're heading along, the timing is the same for all three dates: doors open at 6pm and the music starts at 6.30pm. You can catch one night or come back for more, with the run running from Monday 16 to Wednesday 18 November at the Brighton Dome Studio Theatre, New Road, Brighton BN1 1UG.
