Electronic music star Sofia Kourtesis performs a DJ set at the Quarters venue in Brighton.
Sofia Kourtesis is playing a DJ set at Quarters on Friday 18 September, one of the bigger electronic names to come through Brighton this autumn. If you've been following the scene, you'll know her as one of the rising stars of electronic music, and this is a proper club night rather than a short set.
Her debut album, Madres, is dedicated to her mother and to the neurosurgeon Peter Vajkoczy, and she's built her reputation on a series of well-received EPs and singles. The industry has taken notice: she's been on the cover of Mixmag, recorded a session for Resident Advisor, and made the end-of-year lists of The New York Times, Pitchfork, DJ Mag and Spotify, where one of her tracks hit number six in their best electronic songs of the year. She's played Glastonbury, Green Man, Wide Awake and Primavera, and has shared stages with Caribou and Bicep.

It's a long night, too. The set runs from 11pm through to 4am, so it's one for the late-night crowd rather than a quick stop. Quarters is at 187-193 Kings Road, BN1 1NB, right in the heart of the city, and the set kicks off at 11pm on Friday 18 September.
