A bold, sober day party with uplifting house music closing out Pride Weekend at Ironworks Studios, open to anyone sober, sober-curious or simply there for the music.
Sober Pride Party takes over Ironworks Studios on Sunday 2 August, the closing party of Sober Pride and the final act of Brighton's Pride Weekend. It's a day party that runs from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, and the whole point is right there in the name: loud house music and high energy on the dancefloor, but no alcohol. It's open to anyone sober, sober-curious, or just there for the music, so you don't have to be one or the other to get involved.
Behind the decks are Baroness, Jon Byrne, Ian Farrell, and Amyfist, who'll be keeping the house music going across the afternoon and evening. The party sits within 'Pride at the Ironworks', an ongoing series of cabaret, comedy, and live music events celebrating LGBTQ+ culture and diversity, staged as a year-round cultural calendar that amplifies unheard voices.
Ironworks Studios is also home to Brighton's Forge Comedy Club, which has hosted names like Ramesh Ranganathan, Russell Kane, John Bishop, Alan Carr, Rob Beckett, Al Mussry, Sarah Pascoe, and Zoe Lyons, and stages its own cabaret and drag show, Cabaret Boheme. The Sober Pride Party is the final stop of the weekend, so it's a good spot to wind down the celebrations without the drinks.
