Sex Mask, the Australian post-punk band featuring Wry Gray, Vinnie Moncada, and Kaya Martin, brings a sound that blends proto-post-punk and no-wave. They have previously played at festivals like SXSW and The Great Escape, and have supported acts such as Fcukers, Big Special, and Fat White Family. Sharing the bill is Polite Bureaux, the electronic post-punk project from Bradford’s Joe Smith. His work often focuses on lo-fi beats and lyrics about daily life, and he has previously performed at The Great Escape and supported Benefits in Brighton.
Humane The Moon, which started as a solo project by Max Hanley, has evolved into a five-piece band. Their sound draws on influences like David Bowie, The Smiths, and Radiohead, and they have gained attention for their EP 'Mythomania' and the single 'Tetris', which featured Kate Ireland. Rounding out the night are Minor Dents, an experimental space rock trio based here in Brighton. The group consists of Holly Finch, Ryan Bollard, and Al Strachan, and their debut EP, 'Sitting With The Fish', was released through Rose Hill Records. Their sound is often noted for its similarities to bands like Broadcast and Young Marble Giants. It looks like a solid mix of local and touring talent for a mid-week evening.
