Selena Mersey returns to the UK with her award-winning musical comedy show 'Bisexuelle', a noir-inspired exploration of hidden identities featuring original music and puppets.
If you are looking for something a bit different to do in Brighton this May, Selena Mersey is bringing her show, Bisexuelle, to the Komedia. It is a comedy production that blends music, dance, and a bit of noir-style storytelling. The show follows a character named Johnny, a tough New York detective who is trying to solve a case before he retires from his job at 'CSI Miami'. The plot kicks off when he encounters a mysterious woman, leading to a narrative that explores themes of identity through a mix of original music, choreography, and even some puppetry.

This is the second production from Mersey, who has previously been recognised at the Brighton Fringe and was a finalist in the Musical Comedy Awards. The creative team behind the show includes director Annie North, with Daniel Wakeling handling sound and technical aspects, and Abbie Bryans working on the arrangements. It is structured as a piece of alternative comedy, focusing on satire and performance rather than a traditional stand-up set.
For those planning to attend, there are two performances scheduled at the Komedia in Brighton. The first is on Friday, 22 May 2026, at 21:30, and the second is on Saturday, 23 May 2026, at 15:00. Tickets are priced at £13.50 for concessions and £14.50 for standard entry. Beyond the Brighton dates, the show is also scheduled to travel to Scarborough for performances on 20 and 21 June 2026. It is a straightforward option if you are interested in seeing how musical comedy and noir tropes can be combined on stage.
