Concert by Sekinue, the Brighton-based alternative folk project of Fior Anderson, at The Rose Hill.
Sekinue play The Rose Hill on Thursday 25 February, with a special guest opening the night. The show is presented by Melting Vinyl.
Sekinue is the musical persona of Fior Anderson, a Brighton-based trans, queer multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter working in the alternative folk scene. Their path into music took a turn a few years ago when they discovered the lever harp, and since then they've been playing with the local folktronica band Greenness while building a following across the London and Brighton scenes since 2019.
The sound pairs immersive harp dreamscapes with raw, dark lyricism, and Anderson points to two quite different influences: the intensity of Elliott Smith and the melodic charm of Belle and Sebastian. Their debut single, 'Knives', looks at relationships and mental health, and they're currently working on their first album with producer NightHouse.
