Screaming Blue Murder is back at The Old Town Hall on Monday 26 October, starting at 8pm. It's the venue's resident monthly comedy club, and this season is bringing back some old favourites alongside rising stars of the scene. The night runs for 90 minutes with a 20-minute interval, and it's recommended for ages 18 and over.
The bill leans on two very different comedy backgrounds. Mary Bourke was born in Dublin during a cross-fire hurricane and now lives in Buckinghamshire with her comedian husband and a large collection of Betty Page memorabilia. Before comedy, she was a burlesque dancer and choreographer in San Francisco and has published several romantic novels under the pseudonym Tara Sundrive, best known for writing 'the joke that was heard around the world'.
Michael Legge is a veteran of the circuit, a multi-award-winning headliner who has presented on MTV, performed for Comedy Central, been a regular on BBC Radio 4, 6 and Absolute Radio, and staged eleven Edinburgh shows. He's a seasoned pro who knows his way around a room, and he'll be sharing the stage with Bourke for the night.
