Rotunda Comedy

Rotunda Comedy returns to the Rotunda Cafe Bar on Thursday 17 September, the latest in a regular run of stand-up nights held at the venue in Preston Park. It's billed as the best in stand-up comedy on the last Wednesday of every month, and it's become a bit of a Brighton fixture. The night usually mixes established names with rising acts, and this line-up is no different.

Matt Green is an actor, writer and stand-up whose show Matt Green: That Guy took a debut national tour in 2024. He's a regular writer on BBC Radio 4's The News Quiz and The Now Show, and is perhaps best known for his satirical YouTube videos. Thor Stenhaug took his debut solo show One Night Stand Baby to the Edinburgh Fringe, where it transferred to the Soho Theatre and then to a UK tour this spring, supporting Jack Dee and Josh Widdicombe.

Yuriko Kotani won the BBC New Comedy Award in 2015 and has appeared in Mandy on the BBC and Russell Howard's Stand Up Central on Comedy Central. Markus Birdman has written and performed thirteen solo shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and supported Jason Manford on his national tour. Between them, that's a fair bit of stage time across the Fringe, the BBC, and some of the bigger names on the circuit.

Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm at the Rotunda Cafe Bar, The Rose Garden, Preston Park, Brighton, BN1 6HN. Tickets are £20.
