An afternoon of dancing to the hits of the 1940s and 1950s, featuring swing, jive, doo-wop, R&B, rock 'n' roll and western swing, with vintage attire encouraged.
Rockin' Rendezvous is back at Saltdean Lido on Saturday 29 August, an afternoon of dancing to the hits of the 1940s and 1950s. It's a broad run of styles from that era: smooth swing, jump jive, doo-wop, R&B, rock 'n' roll and western swing. The session is organised by the venue itself, and all seats and tables are unallocated, so you can pick your spot and stay there.
There's a dress code suggested, too. You're encouraged to turn up in vintage attire: swing dresses, pencil skirts, sharp suits, fedoras and saddle shoes. It's not a requirement, but it's the kind of thing that sets the mood for the afternoon, and you'll see plenty of people leaning into it.

The venue is Saltdean Lido, the seafront pool on Saltdean Park Road (BN2 8SP), which has been refurbished with support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It's a distinctive spot to spend a Saturday afternoon, and the event runs from 15:00 to 19:00, so you're in and out well before dinner. A standard ticket is £16.63, a guide price that may change, so it's worth checking before you book.
