A fundraising 8K run or walk for women aged 15 and over, supporting the charity RISE UK.
RISE are back with their Undercliff 8K Run for Women on Sunday 18 October, their biggest fundraiser of the year. It's a run or a walk, open to women aged 15 and over, and it's been the cornerstone of the charity's fundraising for 19 years now. All the proceeds go to RISE UK, which supports survivors of domestic abuse.
The route takes in the stretch of coast between Saltdean and Brighton Marina, running alongside the white cliffs that give the event its name. It's one of the more popular fixtures on the Sussex racing calendar, and because it's a run or a walk, you can take it at your own pace. Entries are limited, so it's worth getting your spot sorted early rather than leaving it to the last minute.
There's a personal side to it, too. One former RISE service user described running the 8K as deeply personal and empowering to do together for the local community, which sums up a lot of what the day is about. It's as much about the people showing up as it is about the distance.
