Stand-up comedy show by Irish comedian Reece Kidd, featuring storytelling, sharp characters and crowd interaction.
Reece Kidd brings his show 1 Irishman to Komedia on Thursday 12 November, starting at 8:00 PM. Kidd is an Irish comedian originally from Belfast, now based in London, and he describes the set as an 'Irish fish-out-of-water' performance. It's built on big storytelling, sharp characters, and the chaos of being an Irishman abroad, so the whole thing leans into that specific perspective of living away from home.
On stage, that translates to a mix of playful dark humour, fast improvisation, and crowd interaction. He's a self-producing comedian, and the set is performed in English, though he does throw in the occasional piece of his famously terrible Spanish. The storytelling is the core of it, and the crowd work means no two nights end up exactly the same.
Kidd has performed in over 30 countries and has sold out the Edinburgh Fringe for three years running. He's also built a huge online presence, with over 100 million views for his viral walk-and-talk stories and crowd work, and he was awarded Cahoots Comedian of the Year 2023. The show is for comedy fans, especially those who like Dara O'Briain, Dylan Moran, and Tommy Tiernan, so he's coming to Brighton with a fair bit of momentum behind him.
