Afternoon flat racing day at Brighton Racecourse, a seaside track with a history dating back to 1783.
Brighton Racecourse is hosting a race meeting from 4 to 6 August 2027, with flat racing on the card across all three days. Each day gets underway at 12:00, so there's plenty of the afternoon left if you're only popping in for one.
It's a seaside track, which is one of the things that sets it apart from the big courses further inland. That location makes it as much a day out as a sporting event, and it works whether you're going with a group of friends, the family, or as part of a corporate outing. Beyond the racing, the course also takes on conferences, entertainment and weddings.
There's a fair bit of history behind the place, too. Brighton Racecourse first staged an official race in 1783 and soon won the favour of King George IV and his circle. That royal connection helped racing become synonymous with the town, a link later immortalised in Graham Greene's Brighton Rock. It's described as one of the most exciting and vibrant tracks in the South of England.
