The Hope & Ruin is a 150-capacity room above a busy Brighton pub, and it's a venue that books live shows from local and international artists alongside a regular poetry night and the odd late-night club. There's a bar pouring draft lagers, beers and ciders, plus the venue's own Hope & Ruin Mosaic Pale Ale, and a ground-floor bar to hang out in before and after gigs. It closes at midnight from Sunday to Wednesday and at 2am from Thursday to Saturday, so on a Thursday night like this one, you've got until 2am to keep going.
