Genre-fluid musical project by brothers Jesse and Louis Baker performing live at The Hope & Ruin in Brighton.
PleasureInc., the musical project led by brothers Jesse and Louis Baker, is scheduled to perform at The Hope & Ruin in Brighton on 30 May 2026. The duo, who are based in Norwich, began developing this project in early 2021. Their work is characterised by a blend of hip hop, indie, and pop, often accompanied by visual content that references 90s fashion, cinema, and wrestling. Operating under the aliases Kenny Pleasures and Jonny Silver, the brothers draw from a range of influences, including Blur, Beastie Boys, Easy Life, and Tyler, The Creator. Their approach prioritises a mix of sounds and aesthetics, moving away from traditional genre boundaries to focus on what they describe as 'vibes' and 'character'.

Since the release of their debut single 'For the Fun of It' in 2023 and their 2024 EP 'Plastic People', the project has gained traction through both digital platforms and live appearances. They have performed at festivals such as The Great Escape and Down the Rabbit Hole, and supported Friday Pilots Club during their 2024 tour across the UK and the EU. Their music has been featured on BBC Radio 1 and 6Music, as well as in publications like Clash and Hard of Hearing. While their sound has evolved to include softer, more introspective elements reminiscent of artists like Blood Orange and Frank Ocean, they maintain the punk-influenced energy that defined their earlier work. This progression has contributed to a growing listener base, with over 100,000 streams on Spotify.
The performance at The Hope & Ruin is set to begin at 20:00. Tickets for the event are priced at £13.50, which includes the booking fee. For those interested in attending, the venue provides a setting that aligns with the club-based shows the duo has held in cities like London and Norwich. This event serves as an opportunity to see the project live, reflecting the work they have put into their stage presence and musical output over the last few years. It is a chance to observe how their eclectic influences translate into a live environment, following their recent touring activity and the development of their discography.
