A fun and social Paint & Sip experience in North Laines, where participants create art guided by local artists while enjoying drinks.
If you're looking for a creative way to spend an evening in Brighton, you might have heard of Pinot and Picasso. Located right in the North Laines at Ground Floor, 127 Gloucester Rd, BN1 4AF, this studio offers a 'Paint & Sip' experience focused on the idea of 'Master the art of fun'. The concept, brought to Brighton by owners Tacy Riby and Amanda Hammond after being inspired by similar studios in Australia, is straightforward: you spend 2 to 3 hours creating a piece of art on canvas, guided step-by-step by local artists (often art students). The great thing is that absolutely no prior experience is needed; it’s designed as a relaxing, creative escape from the everyday.

When you book a session, the standard adult price starts from £39 per person, though they do offer family sessions starting from £20, and sometimes special deals like the £20 Freshers Week event they ran, which included a 2x1 cocktail offer. That price covers all your materials: the blank canvas, acrylic paints, brushes, a table easel, and an apron. Since it’s a 'Sip' experience, the studio has a licensed bar selling wine, Black Lines cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic options, plus snacks. If you prefer, you can bring your own snacks, but outside drinks are not permitted. They also offer discounts if you’re booking for a group of eight or more people.
Pinot and Picasso caters to a wide audience, making it popular for birthdays, hen dos, team building, and general group celebrations. The venue is also LGBT Friendly and accessible, allowing guide dogs and having a disabled toilet. What makes the experience varied are the themed sessions they run. Beyond the standard paintings, you can try specialized concepts like 'Neon Nights' where the art glows under UV lights, or sessions focused on portraits, such as 'Paint your Pet' or 'Paint your Partner'. They also run 'Family Friendly' classes and sessions like 'Paint your inner Drag Queen'. If you are planning a visit, note their opening hours: they are open Wednesday and Thursday evenings (18:00 - 22:00), Friday (12:00 - 22:00), Saturday (10:00 - 22:00), and Sunday (10:00 - 21:30). Monday and Tuesday are reserved for private bookings only.
