Soho house terrace party with The Journey Men and local legends on support.
The Journey Men are playing Patterns on Saturday 22 August, as part of the venue's terrace party series. They're the main act of the afternoon, with local legends on support, so it's a full bill of live music rather than a single set. It runs from 14:00 to 20:00, which puts it firmly in the daytime—more of a long afternoon out than a late night.
Patterns is on Marine Parade, 10 Marine Parade, BN2 1TL, and it's a spot that does its best work in the summer. The terrace is south-facing and wood-decked, looking out over the sea with tropical potted palms and pastel furniture around. It's an open-air space, so if the weather holds, you'll be watching the music with the Brighton seafront as the backdrop. The venue opened in 2015 on the site of a former art deco hotel, and it's carved out a name as a safe space for the city's underground club culture and as a small live music venue. It carries the musical heritage of former spaces like Ted Potters Music Bar and the Escape Club, and the room leans on its setting: the terrace for the summer, and a basement fitted with an L'Acoustics sound system for the club nights. The ground floor is powered by a bespoke Ohm PA.

During the summer months, Patterns runs weekly free Saturday 'Summer Sizzler Terrace Parties', and this is one of them. The Journey Men take the headline slot, with local legends on support, so you'll get a few different acts across the afternoon. Standard tickets are £11.85, a guide price, and the whole thing runs from 14:00 to 20:00 on Saturday 22 August.
