The high-energy psych-garage trio Oral Habit, featuring brothers Charlie and Felix Hales, performs live at The Prince Albert.
Brighton's own high-energy psych-garage outfit, Oral Habit, has a date set for early next year right here in the city. They are scheduled to perform at The Prince Albert on Thursday, March 5, 2026, with the show kicking off at 8:00 PM. The band’s foundation lies with the brotherly duo, Charlie Hales and Felix Hales. Charlie is the primary force, handling lead vocals, guitar, bass, synths, and production, while Felix holds down the drums. However, for their live performances, the lineup expands, currently featuring Tippi Lewis on bass, forming the trio that has become known for its fierce presence in the UK underground scene.

If you’re looking for a sound that is raw, unrestricted, and high-voltage, Oral Habit fits the bill perfectly. Their style is a frenetic blend of 80s post-punk and new wave influences mixed with 60s garage rock, characterized by a heavy dose of fuzz and wah effects. Although the band was only founded in 2023 by Charlie Hales as a home recording project, they quickly established this distinct sound and gained recognition for their energetic live shows across the UK underground circuit.
The band has been consistently releasing material over the last couple of years, giving them plenty of tracks to pull from for the upcoming gig. They launched their album, Cardiovascular Spectacular, in April 2024. Following that, in July 2025, they released their debut EP, Garage Frock!, which features tracks like 'Sauerkraut', 'I'm Free', and 'The Coast'. The single 'Sauerkraut', released earlier in March 2025, was specifically described as a relentless punk charge that pays homage to Krautrock music. For those who appreciate local talent delivering a sound that is both frantic and meticulously produced—given Charlie’s comprehensive role in recording and production—the show at The Prince Albert offers a solid opportunity to catch the current iteration of Oral Habit performing their latest material live.
