The plot takes us back to 1943, when the British intelligence services cooked up a plan to deceive Hitler about an Allied invasion of Europe. The operation involved Ian Fleming — who later wrote the James Bond novels — and a dead body, which they used to plant fake documents that the Germans would find. It's described as the greatest deception ever told, and the show tells the story of how it all came together.
It's not a new arrival to the stage. It won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical in 2024 and went on to get a Tony nomination for Best Musical on Broadway, so it's had plenty of time to find its feet before it hits the road. If you're into musicals and theatre, or just fancy a bit of history told with a song, this is right up that alley.
The Brighton run kicks off on Tuesday 4 August at 19:30, and there are more shows following through to 8 August, with matinees at 14:30 alongside the evening performances. Tickets are on sale online and by phone on 01323 412000, though the exact prices are still to be confirmed.
