A string trio concert featuring works by Dall'Abaco, Kurtág, Mozart, Penderecki and Boccherini, part of the Strings Attached Coffee Concerts series.
Omne trium perfectum comes to the Brighton Dome on Sunday 22 November, a string trio concert that pairs 18th-century works with 20th-century additions. It's part of the Strings Attached Coffee Concerts, a series that launched in 2011 with the Chilingirian Quartet; Levon Chillingirian has been president ever since.
The programme is a long one, running from the early 1700s through to the late 20th century. On the older side, there's Evaristo Felice Dall'Abaco's Capriccio Nos 1, 6 and 8, Carl Friedrich Abel's Arpeggio in D Minor, JP Von Westhoff's Imitatione delle Campane, Julien-François Zbinden's La fête au village: Fanfare, Luigi Boccherini's Trio in A Major, Op. 14, and Mozart's Divertimento in E-flat major K 563. The 20th-century side brings in György Kurtág's Signs, Games and Messages and Krzysztof Penderecki's String Trio.
Three musicians lead the way. Cellist Willard Carter started lessons at four, studied with Alexander Boyarsky, Ivan Monighetti and Antje Weithaas, and won the VP Opus Bank Award in November 2025. Violinist Charlotte Saluste-Bridoux, born in France, won the 2021 grand prize of the Young Classical Artists Trust and Concert Artists Guild, was named a 2022 Classic FM 'Rising Star', and plays in the period-instrument Chiaroscuro Quartet. Violist Edgar Francis took first prize at the 2021 Cecil Aronowitz International Competition and is principal viola of Sinfonia of London.
