An award-winning immersive experience taking you on a journey through the wonders of the deep blue, part of the Brighton Festival 2026 season.
Brighton Festival is back for its 60th edition this year, and one of the more interesting programmes running throughout May is the 'Of Land, Sea & Sky' season. It is hosted at The Old Market and brings together a mix of performances and installations that focus on environmental themes. If you are looking for something specific to check out, the 'Sounds of the Ocean' experience is scheduled to run from 6 to 9 May. It is an immersive setup that combines visuals and audio to explore the deep ocean, which might be worth a look if you enjoy that kind of sensory-focused art. Tickets for this particular experience are priced at £15, and while it is open to all ages, keep in mind that anyone under 16 needs to be accompanied by an adult.

The 'Of Land, Sea & Sky' season itself spans from 2 to 23 May, and The Old Market has a fairly varied schedule during that time. It kicks off with a DJ set for the 'Changing Currents' launch party on 2 May. Later in the month, there are other events like 'Seeds of Hope' on 8 May and the 'Kendal Mountain Tour 2026' on 12 May. Towards the end of the season, you can catch 'TAKKUUK' from 19 to 23 May, which is an installation focused on Arctic indigenous communities, followed by Werkha’s 'Saturama' on 22 May. There is also a 'Sound Bath Experience' available throughout the duration of the season if you are after something a bit more low-key.
It is a decent spread of events if you are planning to spend some time in the area this month. Since everything is happening at the same venue, it makes it relatively easy to plan a visit around the specific dates that interest you. Whether you are interested in the immersive ocean visuals or the more community-focused installations like 'TAKKUUK', the programme offers a few different ways to engage with the festival's theme this year.
