11-piece live band with four lead vocalists recreating the rhythm of more than 30 Northern Soul classics at the Theatre Royal.
Northern Live bring their show to the Theatre Royal on Thursday 11 February 2027, starting at 19:30. It's an eleven-piece live band with four lead vocalists, and the whole thing is built around Northern Soul.
If you're not familiar with the name, Northern Soul started on dance floors in the North of England and eventually spread across the country. It's a movement that grew around a particular sound — fast, soulful records that became dancefloor favourites long after they'd left the charts. Northern Live keep to those original sounds, and they've put together a set that works its way through more than thirty Northern Soul classics, paying homage to the artists and musicians forever etched into vinyl. With eleven musicians on stage and four lead singers, they've got the numbers to recreate the full sound of those records live rather than relying on a backing track.

The performance runs for about two hours, including an interval, so it's a proper night out rather than a short set. The standard ticket is £23.50, and the show starts at 19:30 at the Theatre Royal on New Road, BN1 1SD.
