Over-18s Christmas party with 90s and 00s R&B and hip hop from Usher, Destiny's Child, TLC and Nelly.
No Scrubs is back at Dust on Friday 18 December, a Christmas special that brings the best of 90s and 00s R&B and hip hop to the floor. It's part of Throwback Events' No Scrubs series, and they're billing this one as an ultimate throwback special, so it's built around the era's heavy hitters: Usher, Destiny's Child, TLC and Nelly. The set leans on the anthems of the time, with Family Affair and Confessions Part II cited as two of the tracks they'll be working through.
If those names ring a bell, you've got the gist of it. The whole night is dedicated to that specific stretch of R&B and hip hop that defined the late 90s and early 2000s, so expect the dancefloor to be filled with the songs you grew up with rather than anything new. It's a throwback in the truest sense, with the organisers keeping the focus on the era's biggest names and the tracks that stayed on the radio long after they first came out.
On the practical side, it's an over-18s night, so you'll need to bring ID. There's also a bit of a birthday perk: if your birthday falls between 11 and 25 December, you can claim free entry by emailing the organisers. It's a nice touch if you're celebrating around the same time as the party itself.
