A dance showcase featuring new works created by students and groups from Cardinal Newman CS.
If you are looking for something to do in the middle of April, the Cardinal Newman CS (CNCS) dance department is hosting their upcoming showcase, titled 'New Works', at The Old Market in Hove. It is a two-day event scheduled for Monday, 13 April, and Tuesday, 14 April 2026. The programme is designed to highlight the dance pieces created within the school community, featuring work from various student groups, including those involved in GCSE and A-level courses, as well as youth clubs associated with the school.

The venue, The Old Market on Upper Market Street, is a familiar spot for many of us in the area, and for this event, the doors will open at 17:15 each evening. The performances themselves are set to begin at 18:00 and are scheduled to wrap up by 20:15. It is a straightforward setup, focusing on the students' creative output rather than a large-scale production. Since the event is open to all ages, it might be a practical option if you are looking for an evening activity, though keep in mind that anyone under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Regarding the logistics, tickets are priced at £10 for adults and £8 for concessions, with an additional £2 booking fee applied to the transaction. It is worth noting that these prices are listed as a guide and can fluctuate, so it is best to check the current rates when you go to book. The showcase is essentially a platform for the students to present the choreography they have been developing, and it offers a look at the work coming out of the school's dance programme this year.
