A musical sing-along day party hosted by Lee Peart with audience games, dance-offs and a megamix afterparty.
Lee Peart hosts the Mystery Musicals Day Party at Komedia on Saturday 14 November, a sing-along afternoon that runs from midday until late. Peart is a comedian, presenter and podcaster, and he fronts the whole thing with subtitles on screen so you can sing along to the musical theatre hits without having to know every word by heart.
It's not just about singing, though. There are audience games that hand out prizes for best dressed, best singers and Dancing Queens, and you can take the stage yourself for a dance-off or a lip-synch battle. Reviewers have described Peart as a warm, funny compere who knows how to get a crowd going, so it's as much about the room as the songs. The space is dressed by Flamingo Styling, and there's a snack menu and prosecco available, with an option to turn the afternoon into a bottomless brunch.
Once the sing-along show wraps, the party keeps going with a Musicals Megamix afterpartyโa run of musical theatre hits to keep you dancing. The whole thing takes place in the Komedia Basement, part of the North Laine venue that's been a Brighton staple for just under 30 years. It's strictly 18+.
