Musical theatre sing-along day party hosted by Lee Peart with audience games, prizes and a 'Musicals Megamix' afterparty.
Lee Peart brings his Mystery Musicals Day Party to the Komedia Basement on Saturday 26 September, a new 2026 event he set up to bring Brighton's musical theatre fans together. Peart is a comedian, presenter and podcaster who describes himself as 'the most masculine man on earth', and he says he combined his passions for musicals and mysteries to make this 'the hottest ticket in town'.
The day is built around a musical theatre sing-along with subtitles on screen to keep everyone in time, and Peart warms up the room with dance-offs and lip-synch battles. There are audience games and prizes to play for, and the whole thing is tied together by themed decorations from Flamingo Styling. The afterparty is a 'Musicals Megamix' that runs through hits from Grease, Mamma Mia!, Hamilton, Wicked, The Greatest Showman, Hairspray and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, among others. If you're coming early, you can turn the afternoon into a bottomless brunch with the venue's snack menu and prosecco.
Komedia brought in their in-house graphic designer Bettie White and local stylist Sarah King to help get the day off the ground, and reviewers have described Peart as a warm, funny compere. It's unreserved cabaret seating, so you'll be at tables rather than in rows, and it's strictly 18+.
