The eighth edition of the Mutations Festival, a multi-venue event showcasing international breakthrough and established artists, with headliners Fat Dog and Mike D 5D.
Mutations Festival returns to Brighton on the 23rd and 24th of October, with Fat Dog and Mike D 5D taking the headliner slots. It's the eighth edition of the festival, put on by FORM, and it spreads across nine of the city's grassroots venues: Chalk, Patterns, Revenge, Dust, The Prince Albert, Green Door Store, The Hope and Ruin, The Folklore Rooms, and Alphabet. The festival has built its name on booking breakthrough acts and established names side by side, with a particular eye for the next big thing — CMAT, Yard Act, The Last Dinner Party, and Kneecap have all played previous editions.
Fat Dog headlines the Friday. They're a seven-piece band led by Joe Love, known for their album Cancel Me (I'm Tired). The Saturday belongs to Mike D 5D, which brings Mike D of the Beastie Boys to the stage alongside his sons Skyler and Davis Diamond, Eddie Ruscha, Will Graefe, and Milo Ruscha. It's a family affair on that one, and it marks the first time a Beastie Boys member has played a live show in Brighton since 1987.

With nine venues involved, the festival works as a multi-venue event rather than a single site, so you'll be moving between different rooms and stages across the two days. Chalk is hosting an official after-party for the first time, which gives you a place to keep going after the main sets have finished. Tickets are £35 in advance.
