A music discovery night presented by Hidden Herd featuring emerging post-punk and art-rock acts Mouth Ulcers, alligatr, O'Phantom and Grimrite.
Mouth Ulcers headline a four-band bill at The Hope & Ruin on Wednesday 18 November, part of Hidden Herd Presents, Brighton's new music discovery night that spotlights emerging artists and hidden gems. The night is strictly 18+.
Mouth Ulcers are London newcomers who draw on The Cure, Bauhaus and DIIV. Their debut EP, Silent Pictures, came out through Lab Records and has picked up support from The Line of Best Fit and Louder Than War. They're joined by Brighton four-piece alligatr, who are relaunching under a new name after releasing the singles 'Pterosaur Kite' and 'Foxglove', both championed by Melita Dennett on BBC Music Introducing.
Rounding out the bill are O'Phantom and Grimrite. O'Phantom is a post-punk art-indie collective from Hull's independent scene, rooted in the city's gothic history and DIY ethos, with support from KEXP and a 2025 set at The Great Escape. Grimrite is a Brighton art-rock project that takes its cues from Cocteau Twins, Interpol and Just Mustard. Between the four, the night pulls from a fair spread of post-punk, art-rock and indie, with the London and Hull acts travelling down to join the local names.

The gig runs from 19:30 to 23:00 at The Hope & Ruin, 10-12 Queens Road, BN1 3WA. Standard tickets are £11.00.
