Concert by the Glasgow-based electronic outfit Mercy Girl, blending EBM, Darkwave and Electro-Pop.
Mercy Girl play The Green Door Store on Tuesday 23 February, presented by Super Friendz. They're a Glasgow-based electronic outfit formed in 2024 by Daisy Miles, Davey Purdie, Craig Harkness and Kylie MacNaughton. Their sound pulls from EBM, darkwave and electro-pop to look at love, despair and the uncertainty of the human experience.
They've been around for a short while, launching in November 2024, but they've picked up a global audience and a cult online following since then. Their music gets played at and used to promote dark scene club nights from Los Angeles to Berlin, so if you've spent any time in that world, you've probably come across them without knowing it.
It's a darkwave set, so expect the sort of cold, electronic textures and dancefloor lean that the genre is known for. The four of them — Miles, Purdie, Harkness and MacNaughton — are the ones behind it, and they're the only name on the bill for the night. It's an over-14s event, so it's open to a younger crowd as well as the regulars.
