Memory Box returns to Patterns on Saturday 17 October, with James Zabiela on the decks. It's part of the night's Brighton residency, which has been running for a decade now — ten years since the London-born party first made its way down to the south coast.
The night is run by founder Robin Ball, who ties the session together and takes the room through the underground lineage that's defined the party across both London and Brighton. It's a long-running residency, so this is one of the regular stops rather than a one-off.
James Zabiela is one of electronic music's most revered selectors, and he's known for turning sets into live, tactile performances. He works with loops, effects and multi-deck layers, building a raw, dynamic balance of acid, house, techno and breakbeat made for the dancefloor. It's more of a performance than a standard DJ set, with the loops and effects manipulated as he goes.
