Hip-hop, pop and indie night by South London artist Master Peace at Concorde 2.
Master Peace plays Concorde 2 on Thursday 4 March, from 19:30 to 23:00. It's a set that pulls from hip-hop, pop and indie, and it's for over-16s.
Master Peace is the stage name of Peace Okezie, a South London artist who grew up between SE London and suburban Surrey. He didn't come up on Tupac or Biggie Smalls; instead, he grew up on the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Simply Red. What started as poems became bars, and his first release came from a bet with a Soundcloud-up-and-coming schoolmate to put a track out on the same day — his ended up with more plays. Since then, he's built a library that puts nostalgic alternative rock alongside contemporary street music.
He spent time playing grime sets at London radio stations like Radar, and from there he started experimenting with drum patterns from his favourite bands and his own unpolished flow. He describes it as a filter-free sound, one that speaks to young people tired of the perfection they see on social media. His 2024 debut album, How To Make A Master Peace, earned him an Ivor Novello Rising Star Award and acclaim from Rolling Stone, MTV and Zane Lowe, with Glastonbury appearances to follow.

So on the night, you'll hear that mix of hip-hop, pop and indie. It's a set that draws on the same ground as the debut album — the alternative rock influences and the street music side of things. The show runs from 19:30 to 23:00 at Concorde 2 on Madeira Drive, and it's for over-16s.
