Mark Simmons, star of Mock The Week, returns to the stage with new material, supported by three comedians handpicked by him.
Mark Simmons is back at Komedia on Sunday 31 January, playing the Basement. He's on the road again, testing new material, and he's not coming alone — he's bringing three comedians with him, all handpicked by him, to open the night. The whole thing is presented by RBM.
If you're not familiar with his work, Simmons is a comedy innovator and a self-styled 'master of one-liners'. He's a Mock The Week star and a regular on BBC Radio 4's Extra Stand Up, so he's well-versed in the punchy, fast-paced style that's his trademark. He's also got a podcast, Jokes With Mark Simmons, where he keeps that same focus on the one-liner. The new material he's working through on this tour will be right in that vein.
He's coming off a strong run of recognition, too. He won Dave's Joke of the Fringe 2024 and was named UK Comics' Comic 2022 Best Act, so this is a good time to catch him while he's in the middle of a new set. The three support acts he's brought along will warm up the room before he takes over for the main slot.

The night is for ages 18 and over, with unreserved cabaret seating, so you'll want to get in early if you've got a preference for where you sit. There's a snack menu available if you're fancying something to eat while you're there. Doors open at 6:00 pm, and the show starts at 7:00 pm. Tickets are £19.00.
